John Lund -
Dr. John L. Lund has led numerous tours to Israel, LDS Church
History sites, and to the Lands of the Book of Mormon in Mesoamerica.
He is the author of various articles in the New Era, the Ensign,
The Encyclopedia of Mormonism, and most recently, in the LDS
2006 Church Almanac. Dr. Lund retired after teaching for thirty-six
years in the CES Institute program. He is described as having
a unique combination of gospel knowledge, deeply spiritual and has a delightful sense of humor. |

BY DAY ITINERARY
Important note: This itinerary is subject to change. The times, dates and places we visit may be altered. Please understand that if a change is made, it is to ensure that you have the best tour possible.
Day 1: October 28: Fly
Today we fly from our various USA cities to Cairo Egypt.
Day 2: October 29: Cairo
Late this afternoon our flight will arrive into Cairo. After clearing customs we will transfer to your beautiful 5 star Intercontinental City Stars hotel.
Day 3: October 30: Cairo – Red Sea
This morning we will travel into the Sinai Deseret, crossing the Suez Canal on our way to the Red Sea. You will spend the next two days enjoying one of the most beautiful resorts in the world on the shores of the red sea: The Taba Marriott Resort and Spa.
Day 4: October 31: Red Sea Resort
You have a full day to enjoy your beautiful resort on the Red Sea. They have a fantastic swimming pool and beach.
Day 5: November 01: Red Sea Resort – Aswan - 5 Star Luxury Nile Cruise Ship
Free morning to enjoy your 5 star luxury beach resort. This afternoon you will meet your Educator, Dr. S Michael Wilcox at the Taba airport. You will fly together to Aswan. After arriving into Aswan you will transfer to your 5 star Luxury Cruise Ship.
Day 6 & 7: November 02 & 03: 5 Star Luxury Cruising on the Nile
Over the next two days you will make numerous stops where you will visit ancient ruins. Dr. Wilcox will spend time in-between stops on the ship, educating you about what you are going to see. He will also offer some information on site. Here is a list of some of what you will see from your cruise ship: Aswan, Aswan Dam, Edifu, Philae Island, Kom Ombo and Esna before arriving into Luxor.
Day 8: November 04: 5 Star Luxury Nile Cruise – Luxor – Cairo
This morning we will depart our Luxury 5 star cruise ship and begin our tour around the Luxor Area. Luxor was one of the great capitals of ancient Egypt. We will enjoy a full day of touring, visiting the Valley of the Kings, Medinet Habu, a spectacular funeral temple built for Ramases III, the huge temple complex of Karnak and the beautiful temple of Luxor. This evening we will fly to Cairo and check into our 5 star luxury hotel, Intercontinental City Stars.
Day 9: November 05: Cairo – Pyramids
We will spend the day touring the important sites around Cairo. Foremost are the Pyramids, built over four thousand years ago and the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. Next to the Pyramids we find the Sphinx. We will visit the papyrus institute where we will learn about this ancient skill and where you can purchase a beautiful example of Egyptian hieroglyphics. We will also visit the Alabaster Mosque and explore the world of the Muslim faith, before retuning to our 5 star hotel.
Day 10: November 06: Cairo
Today you will have some free time to relax, shop and pack for your flight home. Today will also be one of your highlight days as you visit the famous archeological museum in Cairo which houses the world’s greatest collection of Egyptian artifacts including King Tutankhamen’s treasures. Late this evening we transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
Day 11: November 07: US & home
We arrive back in the United States filled with memories of these wonderful lands where the scriptures, the greatest books ever written, were created.
